Bo Brustkern

Bo BrustkernBo's professional experience as an institutional investor offers our clients the rare opportunity to gain insights from a valuation professional with a private equity perspective. Prior to co-founding Arcstone Partners, Bo was an investment professional at technology private equity firm Rustic Canyon Partners and middle market private equity firm BACE Industries. Prior to his career as an investor, Bo was a senior analyst at Wellsford Residential Property Trust (NYSE: WRP), where he focused on acquisitions and development for the fifth largest residential REIT in the country.

In the course of his career as a valuation professional, Bo has completed a wide variety of engagements including analyses involving financial reporting, tax, corporate finance, transaction advisory, litigation and strategic planning. Bo is a Charter Member of the Fair Value Forum.

Bo’s interests outside of work revolve entirely around his growing family of six, and usually take him outdoors – rain, snow or shine (usually shine). Prior to life as a dedicated dad, Bo was a promising short-distance triathlete and an occasional competitor in the admittedly fringe sport of winter biathlon.

Bo earned his MBA with distinction from the Anderson School at UCLA, where he graduated as a Deutschman Venture Fellow, and his BA in English and Creative Writing from Dartmouth College.

Peter Downing

Peter DowningPeter wears many hats in his role as one of Arcstone’s four managing directors, relying on a unique set of professional skills and experiences to adroitly lead Arcstone’s varied operational, human resources, and marketing efforts. Peter’s path to managing Arcstone began with nine years as an educator of both students and fellow educators, from the Peace Corps (Ghana) to the Denver Public Schools and eventually to the University of Denver. From there, he followed his family’s legal roots, becoming a fourth generation Denver lawyer, practicing at one of Denver’s premier firms, Holland & Hart. In search of an outlet for his creativity and entrepreneurial bent, Peter later hitched his wagon to a nascent adventure sport magazine where he managed the magazine’s promotional efforts and directed the world’s first adrenaline sport film festival. With the not-so-surprising demise of the young magazine, Peter went on to co-found a niche creative agency, Spark Communications, where he and his partner served clients in the financial services, outdoor adventure, real estate development, and consumer products industries.

Peter’s varied extracurricular interests have led him in as many different directions as have his professional achievements. Now a budding fly fisherman, recreational trail runner, cyclist, and supporter of his two children’s athletic endeavors, Peter was once a top-tier ultra-marathoner, placing 4th and 2nd in the Leadville 100, as well as being a 4-time winner and 12-year record holder for Colorado’s Collegiate Peaks 50-mile trail run.

Peter earned his JD from the University of Pennsylvania, his MA in education and international relations from the University of Denver, and his BA in English from Colgate University.
